I think another reason why Liquiadator didn't get another episode is it would be very hard to defeat him. I mean how many times are you going to freeze him but whatever you do don't evaperate him you can't kill of Liqui ;) Hang on remember that Spiderman comic where they DID kill of Hydroman? He actually came back as a clone now that would be a great sory for our fave liquid dog

P.S you've got to admit Morgana turning Liquidator into a cake was creative in that Justice Ducks episode

I don't get how he's "hard to defeat" (well, I mean, how it'd be hard to come up with creative ways - from a writer's POV)... there are lots of things you can do. Besides, look at the other villains? How many times is Negaduck defeated by being knocked out? (In fact, it seems like knocking him out is the only way to get handcuffs on him!)

Also, evaporating water doesn't "kill" it, just changes it.. evapped-Licky could theoretically be re-condensed to re-turn later.

I guess I should clarify what I meant. I'm not saying there shouldn't be one-shot/filler episodes in the show. You can't really have a series without them. I was just trying to say that those kind of episodes were some of my least favorite of the DW series. That's all.

Well, Darkwing Duck has a great continuity - if you watch the episodes in production order. I never got, why the airing order is different.
And I'm glad there were no Bushroot/Liquidator episodes. They had two of the five teaming up, two other members doing the same would have been... well... boring.
But there should indeed have been more team ups in general. And some of the one-shot-characters should have appeared again.
But this isn't about, what I wish, it's about, what I don't like. So...
Sometimes therer were quite surreal evengts, such as darkwing loosing his eyes or his full face without being really harmed. That was okay or sometimes even great as a gag, but when it had an actual influence on the story, it became stupid. For example, the end of "Planet of the Capes" was much too surreal.
And sometimes there were animals which were supposed to be just animal, not anthros, but then suddenly acted like anthros. That was okay with Gumbo, since he was portrayed as a quite intelligent alligator in general, but I did not like it, when it was used with Isis' fireflies or the animals fleeing from the robotic bear.
And I did not like "A Star is Scorned". There was simply... no real story behind it.

My main gripe is: KENNEDY CARTOONS. Their god-awful images (I refuse to call them art) wrecked many an otherwise good episode for me. They also shat out a number of hiseous Tiny Toons episodes.

Then there's Launchpad the idiot. I love Launchpad, but you have to admit that between DuckTales and DWD he lost a lot of brain cells. I like him being a bit clueless and oblivious, but I'd rather not have him become an outright moron.

And finally, a number of lesser characters. Jumbalaya Jake, Stegmutt, Paddywhack - who gives a toss about them? Even Tuskernini got on my nerves, as he's a shtick villain and his shtick it, IMO, just not funny.

YES. I take it certain companies helped produce the episodes, which is why some are better quality than others. Do you know who did which episodes?

LMAO, completely agree. We've gone so far as to give them a 'grade' system. ("Guess team 'D' did this episode cause it looks a bit crappy...")

As for complaints go, I agree with most of what I've heard:
1. Liquidator DESERVED to have more episodes. Defeating him wasn't so much 'hard' as it could have been 'repetitive' considering that there isn't many, but with his personality and his powers, they could have done a lot with him. I heard once that his speech pattern was hard to write for too but I mean...if fan fictions can get it right...
2. Missing back stories or 'origin' episodes for prominent villains. (And I agree, Steelbeack and Quackjack are glaring oversights. I really, REALLY want to know Quackerjack's...)
3. Some lesser know villains not getting enough attention, though really, I'm talking more about Splatter Phoenix (Though didn't she technically...die? Or get erased or something?) and Camille.
4. The T. Balba story arc: I actually wanted to know where it was going. Was he going to ever get his body back? Was there going to be a true 'final' showdown between him and Darkwing? Was there really a point with the Steerminator thing anyway? (I'll admit, wasn't a big fan of it.)
5. FEMALE VILLAINS: WHERE THE HECK WERE THEY?! And again, what with the ones they had getting little to know play? Vanderchill (SP) (Though I hated her, but I'll get to that), only got I think one episode, Camille only got 1 I think too (and her powers rocked), Splatter Phoenix only had 2 and possible got K.O.ed, and Morgana turned good.
6. Vanderchill (SP). I'm sorry to her fans, but she was a waste of a good power/parody (I love Mr. Freeze and I would have loved to have seen a good parody of him...even if it was a her.) and character as a whole. Her personality was annoying as heck and her powers weren't utilized that well.

Yeah, having LP a few cans short of a 6 pack is okay. But he's not that stupid. He's.. just. Odd. In a good way. Is the best way I can put it..? I heard somewhere he was kind of modeled after Murdock of the A-Team. (..don't quote me on that.)

I wanted more family moments between DW and Gos, I mean I loved them and often related them to my own home life. It was just something I could relate to watching because I was raised by my Dad, and back then on TV and in media it was always kind of rare..? A Dad raising a daughter and all.

More on Morgana's switch to the good side. There could have been an episode about that.

Honker finding out that Drake is DW, as someone else as stated.

While I'm a sucker for Amusing Injuries. I sometimes wish more serious ones were implied and had happened. Although the episode where DW goes blind and then DIES was serious enough. I kind of wish they did that more.

Finally- Kennedy Cartoons. I can't even watch the episodes they created. 8C

I didn't like the episode "Jail Bird" because it felt too condensed. Darkwing has to go undercover in jail? Great, that sounds hilarious. Negaduck drains the powers of the rest of the Fearsome Five? Awesome!

Both in one episode?

Too little time devoted to each idea. They should have been two separate episodes.

The Steerminator episode, period.

I may be on my own there but in my opinion they ruined a perfectly good villain with that. I mean, when I watched the show the first time I thought he was terrifying in the pilot. By cartoon standards I still think he is. He was this huge, completely controlled person who has everything in the palm of his hand, ruins the hero with a well-executed trap, threatens to kill a little girl, actually goes through with the threat (she was saved, but that's not the point). And when he's defeated he doesn't break down, he grabs Darkwing by the collar and delivers one of the most chilling lines ever uttered in a cartoon.

Wow.

Then he's back as some cobbled together robot-thingie with a questionable design (seriously, what's with the tie?) who suffers from overheating? What? I rewatched the episode some time ago because there was talk about him returning in the comics and about half-way through - I think around the time he hopped around on all fours like a rabid dog - I just closed my eyes and hoped somebody would just put him out of his misery.

Consider. He was such a strong personality, they couldn't just throw him in jail (we saw how that worked out, right?) or let him run away, shaking his fists, vowing revenge. The fact that he died, that he had only one appearance was part of what made him so frightening. The rest of the rogues gallery, as scary and powerful and cool as they are - if they get defeated about once a week and the hero doesn't go catatonic with fear at the thought of so many lunatics being after his blood... A kid might get the idea that they're not all that fearsome. Not so Taurus Bulba. No, he went out with a bang and the lingering feeling of "That was bloody bloody close, people." And then they bring him back and botch that up? (IMHO still stands, by the way.)

I don't know. Maybe it would have been cool if they had done it right. Maybe as a story arc spanning two or three episodes. Build up some sense of dread, the feeling of "No... It couldn't be..." First establish a serious threat, then the chilling revelation of who's behind it - because that's how I see the old Taurus Bulba. Watching Steerminator it felt like they put a completely different character in those prosthetics.

Err... I'll stop ranting now :dwcower:
